Details: A designer met with Easton students to gather their ideas for their "dream playground." These ideas, along with the children's drawings, were reviewed by the designer. By the end of the afternoon, he had created a schematic drawing of our new Idlewild Park play structure. Over 500 people attended the Design Day event! To all who contributed to the event: Thank you for helping to make it a success!

Details: As the Project Idlewild build date gets closer (May 30th - June 3rd), the community needs to continue to be involved. Everyone did a wonderful job with Design Day; now, the work that the Children's Committees did before and at the event has been documented. The members of the Children's Committees met on March 1st to draw and write about their experience. These drawings and notes will be sent to the Star Democrat for publication.
We also discussed the upcoming St. Patrick's Day Parade float (we need children to be on and to walk next to the float!) as well as the Fun Run/Walk at the YMCA to benefit Project Idlewild.

Location: North Easton Park
Details: The walk/run began and came to a close at the North Easton Park on March 10, 2007. The event included a 1-mile walk/run for ages 4-6 and a 3 mile walk/run for ages 7 & up. Participants received goodie bags and free t-shirts and prizes were given for "Best St. Paddy's Day costumes." Pre-registered participants also received free give-aways and are eligible for a free trek bike drawing. Results will be posted as soon as a winner is chosen.

Details: A cocktail party and silent auction were held at Scossa's on April 12, 2007 to benefit Project Idlewild. There were appetizers and open bar, along with a jazz band. Tickets sold for $100 each.

Details: Family festivities all day, including a morning run, pancake breakfast, marketplace, parade, food, live music, dog show, tours and activities at Oxford Lab, boat rides, etc. Parade at 11:00A.M. Details: $25 entrance fee includes door prizes, pizza and refreshments. Vendors included Mary Kay, Southern Living and Creative Memories, among others. Proceeds go to Project Idlewild. Thank you to the "P.S. I LOVE YOU" scrapbook store in Easton, who donated 10% of the store's sales from April 28th!

Details: The Clay Bakers donated a portion of its proceeds from this special event to Project Idlewild (excluding tiles for the park). There were two seatings (6:00P.M. and 7:30P.M.). This fun, family event was the perfect time to create something special for Mother's Day while supporting the new playground.
